Head Start Funding Approved

Because you did your part for Head Start:

Congress recently re-authorized Head Start funding with overwhelming bi-partisan support, expanding the program over the next three years to include:

  • $153 million increase in Head Start funding
  • 40% quality set-aside for staff salary increases
  • Guaranteed annual COLA increases
  • Eligibility expansion up to 130% of the Federal Poverty Level
  • Elimination of the National Reporting System
  • Career advancement plans for all staff
  • BA and AA degrees as goals rather than requirements within the next six years

Funding for Head Start was recently vetoed by President Bush. Make sure our elected officials and the President remain true to the promises above!
Do your part for Head Start by joining the Committee on Political Education (COPE) today to secure Head Start funding!
